We report for the first time Nd:YAG laser pumped nanosecond optical parametric oscillation in the mid-infrared chalcogenide crystal LiInSe/sub 2/ with signal and idler tunable between 1.49 and 1.57 /spl mu/m, and 3.3 and 3.72 /spl mu/m, respectively.
