A novel approach to urban management for emergency vehicles through the integration of Lora SX1278 wireless communication and adaptive traffic signal control. The proposed system would speed up the movement of ambulances, reduce response time, and improve public safety by detecting an approaching ambulance up to a distance of 1 km in advance by dynamically changing the traffic signals. Long-range communication and adaptive glass panels can make the system intercommunicate seamlessly between ambulances and traffic infrastructure and allow the real-time adjustment of traffic signals. Simulations in the field and case studies prove there are vast improvements in the passage of emergency vehicles, traffic flow efficiency, and, therefore, in urban safety.
