A 20-fold soft x-ray fluence enhancement from femtosecond-laser-produced plasma was achieved by using a gold nanocylinder-array target with 80-nm cylinder diameter and 100-nm cylinder pitch. X-ray pulse duration was 19 ps and pulse peak intensity became 5-fold higher.
