We have developed a high power terahertz (THz) radiation source by using a compact free electron laser (FEL). The main application of the FEL is THz imaging and spectroscopy for bio-medical research and THz material study. We could get the transmitted THz imaging of several materials including bugs without being dried by using the high power THz FEL. THz spectral characteristics of several materials have been studied by the FEL. We hope that the FEL can be upgraded for a practical source of medical and security inspections.
