Sustaining a sufficient traffic flow has become challenging owing to an exponential increase in vehicle traffic, especially in major metropolitan areas like Chennai and Bengaluru. The higher traffic density also increases the fuel usage and transportation costs. Road accidents occur as a result of traffic congestion, causing serious injury or death to road users Vehicle theft can now occur in various places, including vehicle parking lots and unsecured areas. This paper aims to monitor and detect a stolen vehicle and an accident using the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) along with an Arduino. The vehicle’s location is tracked in latitude and longitude coordinates, and the location information is sent to the vehicle’s owner or traffic control room. The proposed system helps to reduce the time factor and identify the location of the vehicles faster.
