The detection and identification of illicit drugs can be realized by THz spectra and imaging assisted by proper data processing. The component spatial pattern of each sample was obtained and separated from the others by introducing the component spatial pattern analysis. Meanwhile, nine different illicit drugs were identified successfully from their THz spectra by BP neural networks.
