Bearingless Induction Motor(BIM) is a new type of maglev motor which integrates rotating drive and levitation support. Its control system is a typical multi input and multi output control system. The synchronization of output signals between multi drive modules is the key to realize whole levitation control of bearingless motor. So based on the decoupling magnetic levitation force control model, a dual DSP (Digital Signal Processor) control system hardware platform is established by a dual port RAM as the communication, the collaborative control of rotation drive and 5-DOF levitation is realized. The levitation and drive experiments of the 5-DOF BIM prototype verify the effectiveness of the developed 5-DOF BIM prototype and its control system.
