The goal of this project is to demonstrate the versatility of a bi-directional add-drop multiplexer (BADM) in supporting a mixed signal environment with signal transparency on a DWDM mesh network at high data rates. Mesh architectures typically refer to a graph topology whose node degree is greater than one providing multiple connection paths between nodes. We establish the versatility of these devices in less than optimal mixed signal DWDM network configurations using four wavelengths with one dedicated wavelength as a QAM or analog channel and the other three for digital signals. The DWDM mesh architecture LAN based around BADM device lends itself well to avionics.
