the adaptive cruise control system (ACC) is being adopted in smart vehicles. ACC aims to keep the vehicle cruise system 2-3 seconds far from the front vehicle. The ACC depends strongly on hardware equipment to receive information from the surrounding environment. In this work, we propose a safe design of an automatic speed controller for smart communicating vehicles. Without the need of any extra radars or sensors in the vehicle, the cruise system will be able to become an adaptive control system. It uses the discrete controller synthesis method to generate a controller locally at each vehicle and employs the multiagent system to implement the network of the communicating vehicles.
