The paper reports on the simultaneous oscillation in continuous-wave at 1064 and 1322 nm in a 1.4 at % Nd/sup 3+/:YAG crystal. By balancing round-trip losses independently in both laser channels and by taking advantage of axial hole burning in a standing-wave cavity, it is also possible in a YAG host where the ratio among stimulated emission cross sections in both channels was not far from unity.
