The effects of fluctuations of the input state-of-polarization (SOP) in interferometric sensors on the visibility and the phase noise have been well characterized. In this paper, the presence of a polarizer at the output of a fiber optic interferometer is shown to reduce the polarization-induced noise when it is part of a polarization diversity receiver.
