In this paper, we have proposed a mechanically controlled a photonic crystal waveguide device using MEMS technology. Optical properties of the device change sensitively with the small shift of the second structure because of the near field interaction of the lightwave in the photonic crystal waveguide. Feasibility of proposed device in optical switching is demonstrated numerically and experimentally.
