The article presents the main directions of low-carbon transport development in the conditions of post-pandemic development. Advanced transport technologies based on the use of information and communication systems, highly automated transport, diversification of energy sources for vehicles form a new social environment - they change the motivation of transport behavior, create a special digital environment for the driver of a vehicle, a road user, which will affect the quality life, mobility, traffic safety, environmental sustainability of transport during its transition to the trajectory of decarbonized development. These changes are taken into account in the scenario forecast of the number, intensity of use of the fleet of vehicles, the type of fuel (energy) used, direct and indirect emissions of greenhouse gases by Russian vehicles for the period up to 2050. When making forecasts, it is important to take into account the peculiarities of regional energy balances by the type of primary sources of electricity generation (coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear energy, hydropower, renewable energy sources), which affects secondary GHG emissions and the carbon footprint of transport activities in a particular region.
