To improve the survivability of multiple ground vehicles when they are maneuvering under the reconnaissance of satellites, a cooperative route planning method using A* search algorithm is proposed. Firstly, the route planning problem of multiple ground vehicles for survivability improvement is formulated. Then, satellite reconnaissance model and road network model are established. And the modified A* search algorithm based on cooperative dispersal strategies (i.e., dispersal arrival strategy and real-time dispersal strategy) is customized for route planning to improve the survival possibility of ground vehicles. In addition, a survivability evaluation framework is established to assess the survival status of ground vehicles. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can improve the overall survivability of multiple ground vehicles effectively.
