According to the reflection condition of optics Bragg, two kinds of two-dimensional curved EBG structures are designed and their bandgap characteristics are observed, and they are applied to the cylindrical conformal microstrip antennas for the filrst time. The simulation results indicate that, the higher harmonics of the antenna with EBG are perfectly suppressed comparing with the normal cylindrical microstrip patch antenna without EBG.
