The paper describes the resonant cavity imaging biosensor (RCIB) for binding site detection. The RCIB achieves excellent sensitivity with the use of an optical cavity. Light resonating inside the optical cavity interacts with the intracavity medium, the biomolecules in this case, over the number of passes proportional to the cavity finesse.
