Summary form only given. In this work, we present a novel approach to generate a SSB signal, using a multi mode-interferometer (MMI) coupler, and two electroabsorption modulators, which are integrated with distributed feedback (DFB) laser and a semiconductor amplifier on the same wafer. As predicted by the theory, it is experimentally demonstrated that the propagation over dispersive fiber does not periodically fade away, but has only a slight power variation, which can be partially corrected by the modulator applied voltage.
