The conventional dual active bridge converter has disadvantages of large reactive power and low efficiency under light-load conditions, especially when the primary voltage does not match the secondary voltage of the transformer. In this paper, an improved dual active bridge topology is proposed to eliminate the reactive power and enhance light-load efficiency by using two split inductors. The working modes and control method are analyzed and discussed respectively. In addition, the comparions between the proposed topology and the conventional topology are conducted by using PSPICE simulations. Simulation results verify that the proposed converter exhibits obvious advantage on light-load efficiency.
