In this paper, the advantages and disadvantages of the two traditional climbing methods are compared firstly. Then combing the linear relationship between the wind speed and the optimal speed and the two traditional climbing methods, an improved variable-step climbing method is proposed. After that a model of improved variable-step climbing method is established. Finally, the simulation is carried out by the proposed method, considering step wind and natural wind. The compared simulations results verify the proposed method has better characteristics.
