In this paper, we discuss two interesting instantiations of the moment problem in image processing. The first involves the estimation of moments of an image indirectly from projections, and the reconstruction of the image from these moments. The second relates the reconstruction of binary polygons from moments to well-known algorithm in array signal processing. Through these examples, we place the moment problem into a geometric perspective and illustrate how this perspective leads to a number of interesting practical applications in image processing and other fields.<>
