While the average remaining time to collision of about 20 s is quite promising, there are also a couple of scenarios where it drops below 10 s. The main issue there is generally the low contrast between the terrain as background and the approaching traffic aircraft-a result of the exceptional dynamic range if the sun is close to the camera FOV and shady terrain is visible at the same time. These situations could certainly be improved by using a higher bit depth instead of the 8-bit used for the scenarios presented here.
