study of polarimetric- and interferometric-radar datasets collected in four contrasting Australian mineral provinces during the 1993 and 1996 USA-Australia AIRSAR deployments has demonstrated the unique capabilities of these data for mapping geological structures and regolith-landforms. With the use of appropriate image-processing strategies, the merits of these datasets have been examined. Their interpretation has revealed details of regolith geology and landscape evolution processes previously unrecognized in conventional datasets such as aerial photographs and Landsat TM.
