In this paper, an efficient MPEG video encryption scheme is presented by employing chaotic cipher. In order to provide video content protection, first, selective encryption is completed by encrypting Fixed Length Codeword (FLC), using proposed chaotic stream cipher. Then, for each frame, macro block shuffling is executed in video bit stream, using chaos-based permutation. The proposed chaotic cryptographic system employs two simplest chaotic maps as well as avoids floating-point arithmetic, thus ensures the fast speed of encryption. Other necessary features such as format compliance, strict size-preservation and high security levels were also confirmed both according to the encryption algorithm analysis and experiments results.
