A new approach to impulsive noise suppression found in desired signals is presented using mathematical morphological operators that incorporate the shape information of the signal in this paper. A brief introduction to these nonlinear signal processing operators, as well as a detailed description of the new algorithm, is presented. Experimental results show that the new algorithm has good performance in impulsive noise suppression.
