In order to satisfy the next generation of automotive electronic control system unit of cost, PCB space has limited requirements for high performance, high reliability and stability, In this paper, a 16-bit Freescale MCU MC9S12XF512 is designed as the main control chip of automobile electronic control system unit. It is based on FlexRay bus technology, aiming at body layout and body control requirements. This article introduces the design of automobile electronic control system structure of the system unit in detail, including the main control chip of control module, FlexRay bus communication module and other peripheral circuit of the hardware design and software design processes. Through the actual design and development, a number of automobile electronic control system units are made, and the communication test based on FlexRay bus is realized by software programming . The design of the control unit with independent bus controller, can be easily connected with other ECU for high speed data transmission.
