Since few years ago, the question of on-board energy measurement system (EMS) is on table of standardisation working group (WG for EN50463) to engage the "real" billing of the energy between railway operators and infrastructure owners. The strategy to adopt the energy measurement system and his communication system, but also, the possibilities to use the data of the EMS to find energy savings sources are the focus of railway operators. In this paper, SNCF Mobility, will present his experience of EMS to define his strategy to install EMS on Rolling Stock, and examples of data used for energy savings studies and projects ongoing.
