The optical Add/Drop multiplexer (OADM) is a key component enabling greater connectivity and flexibility in WDM network. The device which employs photoimprinted Bragg gratings and circulators is an attractive device for it is spectrally selective and easy to couple with optical fiber systems. Interferometric crosstalk for a two structure OADM using Bragg gratings are investigated. Experimental results of spectrum and bit error performance show that for the common structure the interferometric crosstalk is distinct while for the novel structure it can be greatly reduced.
