With the extensive applications of the Architecture Analysis and Design Language (AADL), how to use AADL to create platform-independent models (PIMs) is becoming a research focus. Most applications use UML or SysML to create PIMs, and then use the conversion rules to convert to AADL models, but how to ensure the consistency of the models is a challenge. This paper presents an extension of AADL supporting the expression of PIM in order to perform the analysis and design of a system. For this purpose, we extend the Behavior Annex and introduce logical system to AADL. And the annex extension mechanism of AADL is attached behaviors to systems, logical systems, devices, and processes. Finally, according to Harmony System Engineering (Harmony-SE) process, we introduce how to use the extended AADL in the system engineering process.
