Latest research introduced distributed cooperative communication (DisCoCom) systems for practical mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) that are a promising approach to overcome the scalability limitation of latter. While these systems are capable of mitigating the impact of multiple timing and carrier frequency offsets, they only rely on standalone single-antenna nodes. Within this paper, we point out that this is no mandatory simplification of the hardware requirements. Consequently, we propose a DisCoCom system based on multi-antenna nodes that accordingly empowers a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication and distributed spatial multiplexing (DisSpa-Mux). We show by simulations, that our system enables distinctly more reliable, accelerated and cost-efficient broadcasts. Besides, our system is extremely robust against multiple imperfections (multiple carrier frequency and timing offsets).
