We report on the experimental investigation of two-photon resonant pumping photoinduced SHG in Er/sup 3+/-doped germano-aluminosilicate optical fibers pumped at 1.319 /spl mu/m. We also demonstrated that for erbium free test fibers no SHG was observed, indicating that the presence of erbium ions in fiber core determines the condition for the SHG process.
