The step-up of the output voltage is required in low-voltage renewable systems like solar, and fuel cell applications. For these multilevel inverters play a crucial role in stepping up the output voltage. The conventional multilevel inverters have the following drawbacks that include more no. of switches required, lack of boosting the output voltage, capacitor voltage imbalance & so on. So, the switched capacitor multilevel inverters can overcome the drawbacks of conventional inverters. In this paper, we are suggesting a hybrid switched-capacitor multilevel inverter that can produce 13 levels & 19 levels of output voltage in symmetrical and asymmetrical modes respectively with less no. of switches, high voltage gain, and low THD. A comparison study has been conducted between various switched capacitor multilevel inverters. In this paper, we are implementing level-shifted modulation techniques for this hybrid switched capacitor multilevel inverter to analyse” the THD in symmetrical, asymmetrical modes and compared the THD between two modes.
