This paper analyzed the influences which ticket price, travel time and comfort degree have on traffic mode choice in Beijing-Guangzhou transportation corridor under various trip purposes. A SP-RP survey was applied and the price elasticity of demand and cross price elasticity were calculated respectively. By doing statistical analysis, we found that the ticket price has obvious influence on traffic mode choice under the trip purposes of tourism, migrant and school. Business trip has the highest demand for travel time. Comfort degree is a particular important factor in aviation when it comes to tourism. Elastic analysis results show that CRH sleeper has higher price elasticity of demand than aviation, which indicates that the price of CRH sleeper has more influence on traffic demand than that of aviation's. The result of cross price elasticity calculation shows that the competitiveness of CRH sleeper is declining with the increase of CRH sleeper ticket price. This research could provide evidence for dynamic pricing of CRH sleeper in competitive environment.
