This paper describes an application of R-T-S fixed interval optimal smoothing technique in GPS/DR integrated navigation system. Usually, a Kalman filter is used to estimate the navigation parameters of GPS/DR integrated navigation system. The precision of optimal smoothing is higher than that of Kalman filter from the theories point of view. So this paper uses R-T-S smoothing technique to test and evaluate GPS/DR integrated navigation system via post processing of navigation system via post processing of navigation data. The semi-physical simulation is implemented on computer with the static test data given by GPS and DR. The results show that R-T-S smoothing can effectively test and evaluate the GPS/DR integrated navigation system accuracy, and it is a valid post processing method.
