The design of elements of the road network in urban conditions includes digital modeling of traffic flows. The capacity and level of service of the urban road network are the main indicators of its operability. The effectiveness of the functioning of the road network is assessed by monitoring traffic and pedestrian flows. The presence of an uncontrolled crosswalk close to intersection has an impact on the intersection capacity and the efficiency of the road network. One of the factors affects intersection capacity and driver time delays is the critical headway that pedestrians consider safe to begin crossing the roadway. Taking into account the parameters of traffic and pedestrian flows observed in modern traffic conditions will make it possible to more accurately model road situations and assess the operability of elements of the road network.
