This paper presents a rectangular patch array antenna for the Satellite applications. The necessity for the high directive and high gain microstrip antenna are increasing with the progression in technology. The antenna array is designed to work in the frequency range of 12 GHz. Inset feeding method is used for the patch, because of its convenience in matching the impedance. A single element patch antenna with an optimal performance is designed on a RT Duroid 5880 dielectric substrate and with the same dimensions a 2 element and 4 elements linear array is designed. Simulation results show that the 4 elements array is resonating at four different frequencies between 10 – 13 GHz with a moderate gain for S11> 10 dB.
