Reliability and consistency work of any electronic devices depends directly on the stability of its parts in different environments of its working fields; especially in space and satellites. In this experimental work, the effect of Gamma irradiation on the capacitance and impedance of some commercial capacitors in different radiation doses and a wide range of frequencies have been studied. Irradiation with the Energetic particles causes structure alteration of insulator material within the capacitors which will change the electrical capacitance of this simple device. Results show that the capacitances of the electrolyte capacitors decrease notably by increasing the radiation dose and frequencies, but non-ceramic capacitors as MKP& MKT show much higher resistance against the radiation effect particularly for the frequencies less than ∼1MHz.
