China has been the second aviation transportation system since 2005 and increases with high speed each year. In order to meet transportation requirements, more and more aerodromes are being set up. Aerodrome location suitability, planning and operation safety attracts lots of attention. Remote sensing provides a high efficient method for aerodrome planning, construction and operation. The application in aerodrome full life cycle management is fully discussed in this paper. Distributed database is built up and national remote sensing data especially GF series satellite data is experimented in aerodrome construction progress tracking, clearance monitoring, runway deformation and terminal subsidence. Through professional applications, aerodrome planning is being more scientific, blind areas of clearance disappear, and aerodrome is fully covered for subsidence monitoring. Remote sensing help improve aerodrome operation efficiency and safety greatly.
