Summary form only given. We have designed and fabricated a new photonic integrated multichannel wavelength-selective switch that is far less sensitive to the uniformity problem of the phase-array waveguide grating (PAWG) process and can perform many wavelength switching functions. With improved PAWG performance, this new design holds great potential to produce high performance and high yield reconfigurable wavelength-switching devices.
