Unresolved targets detection is an important problem for monopulse radar to avoid false angular tracking. This article proposes an unresolved targets detection algorithm for the case where the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of one of the targets is known. The detector is derived using the generalized likelihood ratio test with some approximations. The simulation results show that significant improvement in detection performance is obtained by exploiting the a priori knowledge of the DOA. An application of the proposed algorithm to the noise jamming scenario is also presented.
