This paper aims to verify the structure of electric bus according to UN ECE safety regulation. Finite element method is employed to assess the strength of the bus superstructure such that the safety space for passengers is in accordance with ECE-R66 rollover test. In addition, crash conditions following the ECE-R100 mechanical shock test are performed to analyse the strength of battery compartments. The results show that the bus structure has sufficient strength under rollover test and the battery compartments have an ability to retain battery packs under the crash event.
