During the development phase of the satellite sub-systems or during the integration phase (AIT), it is necessary to have a test platform to validate the expected functionally in orbit, identify the accuracy of instruments and calibrate the embedded sensors. the platform of test is generally designed in order to be able to reproduce the functionalities required and defined in the development plan of equipment or/and satellite, which will have to be carried out in real operation, once in orbit. without these specific test bench, it would be difficult, may impossible, to check the equipment performance and emulating all the required functionalities from the subsystem in mission. In our case, we start developing an academic nano-satellite with cots and home made equipment and their test benches and platforms (named ground support equipment, GSE) which are necessary to run tests and scenarios on subsystems, emulating satellite orbit functions. Also verify the expected performances and re-calibrate our sensors and the instrumentation chains. In this work we focus on low earth orbit determination requirement for nano-satellite, particularly on magnetometers calibration and validation of its various scenarios of implication in orbit by a Hardware in Loop (HIL) configuration. to cover this tasks, a specific platform of test has been designed and realized (in house) to answer to specific requirement of satellite projects developed in our centre and the limited NanoSat projects budget. Based on the principle of the Helmholtz magnetic cage, this work describes the development of a test platform that could compensates the earth's magnetic field, or even eliminate it, to create magnetic silence by a closed loop control.
