Time-sensitive networking (TSN) comprises next generation network technologies integrating information technology and control technology. TSN targets major fields including industrial automation systems, vehicular communications, and avionics. This paper reviews and analyzes standards related to time synchronization, traffic shaping, reliability, network management technologies, and application scenarios in the IEEE 802.1 TSN standards. It then summarizes the current industrial status of TSN. Finally, this paper discusses challenges and prospects for future TSN applications.
