The detection performance of the maximum mean level detection (MX-MLD) when noncoherent integration is used under both nonfluctuating and chi-square fluctuating target models is analyzed. Finite series are obtained in all cases. Required thresholds and constant false-alarm rate loss curves are presented, with emphasis on the important Swerling case II model.<>
