In this paper we present a system design that incorporates the functionalities of a digital modulator/demodulator along with controlling features such as symbol generation, filtering, modulation, demodulation, phase and timing recovery for QPSK and 16QAM modulation schemes. It is concluded that for a BER of 10−5 an Eb/No of 13.5 dB and 9.5 dB is required for 16 QAM and QPSK respectively. Simulation and Analysis of QPSK and 16QAM modulator and demodulator is done on MATLAB® with real time implementation on TMS320C6713 Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Kit.
