The use of ultra-wideband (UWB) radar to solve the problems of measurement of coordinates and their derivatives, discrimination and radar imaging, and measurements of radar target characteristics, which occur in radar target observation, is discussed. The signal model used for UWB signals is examined. Scattering, formation reception of signals, and digital processing techniques are considered.<>
