Drones with a variety of functions are becoming more and more necessary for both military and commercial use. The creation of innovative drones that can fly independently in diverse settings and carry out a range of tasks is also attracting a lot of attention. The wide range of uses for these drones during the last ten years has drawn the greatest attention, which has resulted in the development of several drone models with varying weights and sizes. In this review article, we establish a fresh taxonomy of drones in flight, with new specified applications ranging from unmanned helicopters to clever removes at both ends the spectrum. The difficulties in designing and manufacturing microdrones, current strategies for extending their durability, and several ways to navigation and control are covered in depth. Recommendations, options for the next drone generation, and limitations of the current drones are also explored and presented.
