Space vector pulsewidth modulation (SVPWM) has good dc-link voltage utilization, but the determination of location of reference voltage vector and nearest three vectors will be complex in modular multi converter (MMC). This paper presents a novel SVPWM scheme with submodule capacitor voltage balance for MMC. The proposed method provides a general a determination of position for reference voltage vector and simplifies the computation without complicated trigonometric function. Finally, Simulation results demonstrate its validity.
