We demonstrated our approach with a multimode Nd:YAG laser in which two interferometric combiners are inserted. The interferometric combiners split the multimode distribution into four equal parts, each of a Gaussian distribution, which are then recombined. We also developed a theoretical model for determining the output modal distribution for different laser configurations in which intra-cavity interferometric combiners are inserted.
