Commercial seaports are a key component in the transport chain and particularly in the supply chain and in the production process. Port performance is a recurring question as each change in ports affects their performance level. These changes occur at different levels: international (technological advances), national (division of traffic between different regions) and local (land use planning). This influences the port service quality, its performance and its fitting to intermodal transport. By using the Principal Component Analysis method in the context of Tunisian seaports, we have been able to detect the various failures of the whole system, while assessing the quality of port service in Tunisia.
