The work of a two-year research effort aimed at the conceptual development and evaluation of multimodal transportation management scenarios is summarized. The author highlights the scenario development process and range of the 27 scenarios developed; presents scenario development evaluation criteria and illustrative conceptual evaluations; discusses feedback obtained in visiting eight areas to determine general applicability and the various implementation issues; and discusses the next steps on the project.
